| Romana, the Doctor (Doctor Who. In the tie-in continuities of the novels and of the audiodramas during the Doctor Who broadcast hiatus 1989-2005, the TARDIS companion Romana (1979-1981) became Lady President of the High Council of the Time Lords. I rarely incorporate elements of a franchise's tie-ins into my fanfiction's continuity but I have brought this into mine if, till now, only in one panel, for the callback to dialog in Romana's first scenes with the Doctor in 1979 (as well as bringing Romana back for TARDIS travels as in the animated eighth-Doctor version of Shada, 2003). However in all the talk of Time War since the series revival, whether Romana escaped or shared the fate of the rest of the Time Lords has been left unstated in screen continuity. And in mine.
