| I first had an MCU character refer in The Hero of Three Faces to the return after the snap as "the pop" in another cartoon drawn a few days earlier than this one. The needs of that dialog were that I only needed a word for it, not an explanation for the word, but when I came up with "the pop" I realized I did need to offer the explanation, in a cartoon set sooner after the return than the other one is set. So then I drew this one. This was just before - like, three weeks, or three days - the debut of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when it first came out that the word used in screen continuity for the return and for the five-year period before it is "the blip". Originally in T'Challa's dialog in this panel he said something like "This is what I'm given to understand they call it on the internet", instead of "some call it on the internet", which I changed because it's now apparent that it's different in screen continuity - or at least, as I'm left to imply here, "blip" was what eventually came into most wide general usage as time went on, out of several potential candidates which will have arisen across the world immediately after the event. I suppose properly I should change the other cartoon since it's set much later, but as of this writing I haven't. |
