| In Hero of Three Faces continuity, the Doctor spends quite a bit of time between regenerating into his ninth incarnation [at least, the ninth that calls himself Doctor] and seeing his ears for apparently the first time in Jackie Tyler's sitting room mirror in Rose (2005), the first episode of the revival series. Many argue the Doctor can't have been in this face long because Rose was the first time he'd seen it (and in fact, usually, looking in a mirror is one of the first things the Doctor does after a regeneration) so, in order to give the Doctor more time in the ninth face before the Tyler's mirror, I felt an explanation was required for why this time was different. |
