Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for feedback on yesterday's reduced art. Consensus seems to be, between those who emailed and those who posted at the message board, that the file reduced in MSPaint makes a better showing than the file constrained by code, except for the word balloon text. One poster suggested that I work at twice presentation size, reduce in MSPaint, and then add text; I had already decided by the time I read that suggestion to try that on my next attempt. Many voters said my normal 1-to-1 production is best and the lack of anti-aliasing is even part of the charm. At some future date I may try this at least once more, if only because I'm still curious whether it's prohibitively more time consuming than the procedure I use now. Right now I doubt I'll make any permanent change.
